Today is my birthday—Juli 21st. I am not happy today—or perhaps I am, just a little.
But I am heartbroken for my Iran:
For the heroes of Dey;
For the angels of Minab;
For the homeland’s brave soldiers;
For everything and everyone;
For those who became victims;
And for those who fall asleep to the sound of missiles and wash their faces with contaminated water in the morning;
For those who are not the privileged children of the elite.
I dedicate this small measure of happiness to all the angels lost to heaven, and I hope that one day, my country will finally be free.
