During the evacuation of those injured by the bombs, gunmen opened fire from an ambush toward the rescue forces. Additional soldiers were injured, and the evacuation became a complex and lengthy task. Additional rescue forces were called to the site to evacuate all the wounded. 5. The shooting ambush after the detonation of the bombs is a recurring tactic that has occurred in recent weeks in incidents in which Hamas operatives planted explosive devices against IDF forces. The gunmen have behaved similarly in previous incidents. 6. In total, the incident resulted in the deaths of five soldiers, most of them from the Netzah Yehuda Battalion.
