The bird king

All the animals in the jungle had a king. The birds were jealous. They wanted a king too.
همه حیواناتِ جنگل رئیس و سلطانی داشتند. پرنده‌ها حسودی‌شان شد. آن‌ها هم یک سلطان می‌خواستند.
“Let me be king. Look at my wonderful colours!” said the beautiful parakeet.
طوطی دم‌دراز گفت: «بزارید من سلطان بشم. پرهای رنگارنگ و فوق‌العاده‌ام رو ببینید!»
“No, no,” said the myna. “I can speak and talk to the other animals. I should be king.”
مینا گفت: نه نه، من می تونم حرف بزنم و با حیوونای دیگه صحبت کنم. من باید سلطان بشم.»
“And I have a fantastic beak!” said Toucan. “I want to be the bird king.”
توکان گفت: من منقاری عجیب‌وغریب دارم. من می‌خواهم سلطان پرندگان شوم.»
“I know,” said the macaw. “Why don’t we have a competition? The bird who can fly the highest will be the bird king.”
طوطی مکو گفت: می دونم. چرا مسابقه ندهیم؟ پرنده‌ای که بتواند از بقیه بالاتر پرواز کند، سلطان جنگل شود.»
Everyone thought this was an excellent idea, especially the eagle. “Make me king now,” he said. “I am the strongest, and I can fly the highest.”
همه و مخصوصاً عقاب قبول کردند که این فکر خوبی است. او گفت: «مرا سلطان کنید. من از همه قوی‌ترم و می‌توانم بالاتر از همه پرواز کنم.»
“Ah,” said a little voice. “But you might not win!”
صدای ضعیفی گفت: «آه، شایدم تو برنده نشی!»
“Ha ha!” laughed the eagle. “You can’t beat me, little sparrow!”
عقاب خنده‌ای کرد: «ها ها! گنجشک کوچولو تو نمی تونی منو شکست بدی!»
“We’ll see,” said the sparrow.
گنجشک گفت: «خواهیم دید.»
The race began, and all the birds flew high into the sky. They flew higher, and higher, and the eagle flew the highest. “Ha! I told you!” squawked the eagle. “I, I am the king!”
مسابقه شروع شد و همه پرنده‌ها به اوج آسمان پرواز کردند. بالا و بالاتر رفتند و عقاب از همه بالاتر بود. عقاب جیغی زد: «من که گفته بودم. من سلطانم!»
But the sparrow was hiding under the eagle’s wing. Suddenly, he flew higher than the eagle’s head. The sparrow was the highest bird of all! He won the competition! And the sparrow was the new bird king.
اما گنجشک زیر بال‌های عقاب قایم شده بود. ناگهان بالاتر از عقاب به پرواز درآمد. گنجشک بالاتر از سر عقاب پرواز می‌کرد. گنجشک از همه بالاتر بود! او برنده مسابقه و سلطان پرندگان شد.
