UNIVERSITY PANEL DISCUSSION PROFILES Ms. Marzieh Hashemi Ms. Marzieh Hashemi was born Melanie Franklin and is an American revert to Islam. She was born in the state of Louisiana in the United States of America, and attended Louisiana State University, where she graduated with a degree in journalism. She initially worked for an ABC affiliate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. However, after becoming Muslim, she could no longer find work in broadcast journalism and started working for various Islamic publications, such as Crescent International of Canada. Upon her arrival in the Islamic Republic of Iran, she started working for the IRIB English radio station. She has also worked for Sahar TV as a host, writer and producer. In 2008, she started working for Press TV, and she is currently a Senior Anchor at Press TV. She is a writer, host, producer, documentary filmmaker, and a political analyst and activist. Dr. Reza Bagheri Dr. Reza Bagheri earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Islamic Studies and Politics from Imam Sadiq University in 2007. He completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh, with his thesis exploring social integration and national identity negotiation among Scottish Muslims. Currently, Dr. Bagheri is a faculty member at the University of Tehran, and serves as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of World Studies, University of Tehran, where he also heads the European Studies department. Dr. Zohreh Kharazmi Dr. Zohreh Kharazmi earned her Bachelor's degree in English Literature at Qom University and Master's and PhD in American studies at the University of Tehran. She is currently a faculty member at the University of Tehran, and is an Associate Professor in the American Studies Department, Faculty of World Studies, University of Tehran. She is also the Head of the International Department of The Global Congress of Imam Reza (PBUH). Dr. Ehsan Sharif Dr. Ehsan Sharif-Paghaleh earned his Bachelor's degree in Genetics from the University of Manchester and a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine from the University of Sheffield. He has a PhD in Transplantation Immunology and Medical Imaging from King's College London. He is a faculty member at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine. Currently, he also serves as the Scientific and Technological Deputy of the Preclinical Core Facility at Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

HAWZAH PANEL DISCUSSION PROFILES Sayyid Agha Ali Raza Sayyid Agha Ali Raza earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Fiqh & Usul, and a Master's degree in Fiqh & Ma'arif, both from al-Mustafa International University. He is currently a PhD and Darse Kharij Student in Amir al-Mu'mineen Islamic Seminary. He is also a translator, with over 15 years of experience, having translated Islamic texts including works by Ayatullah Misbah Yazdi, Ayatullah Behjat, Ayatullah Hadi Marifat and other senior Islamic Scholars from Farsi & Arabic to English. He is also currently a researcher in the Philosophy & Theology Department of the International Institute for Research in Islamic Studies. While simultaneously managing the Translation Department of this institute. Shaykh Mustafa Araki Shaykh Mustafa Araki earned a Master’s degree in Economics at Royal Holloway, University of London. He is currently a distinguished lecturer at the Seminary of Qom and is a researcher in the field of Islamic Economics. He has six years of advanced studies in Darse-Kharij on Jurisprudence and the Principles of Jurisprudence under the guidance of eminent scholars including Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Ayatollah Saeed Va‘ezi, and Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani. He has over fourteen years of experience in Islamic preaching and outreach across Masajid and Islamic centers throughout the United Kingdom. Finally, he is the Director of Publications at the Research Institute of Majma‘ al-Fikr al-Islami. Sayyid Shahryar Naqvi Sayyid Shahryar Naqvi earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in International Business, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Arts, in Foreign Languages Spanish, followed up with a Graduate Certificate in Information Systems and a Master's in Business Administration, all from Mississippi State University, United States of America. He has been studying in the Islamic Seminary of Qom for 14 years now and has a Bachelor's degree in Shia Studies and is finishing up his Master's degree in Ahlul Bayt Studies. He currently is and has been a presenter and a host at Islamic Pulse for the last 7 years. Shaykh Ali Qomi Shaykh Ali Qomi earned his Bachelor's in Computer Sciences from Western Michigan University, and a Master's in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University, both in the United States of America. He has a Project Management Professional certification from the United States of America and has worked as a Project Manager, Software Architect, and Software Engineer in the US for 10+ years before joining the Islamic Seminary. He has been studying in the Islamic Seminary of Qom for 11 years now and has a Bachelor's degree in Fiqh & Usul, and is finishing up his Master's in Islamic Studies with a focus on modern theology. Finally, he is involved in several religious and cultural projects to propagate the Pure Muhammadan Islam in cyberspace and otherwise.
