Dear believers, Salāmun Alaykum:
Congratulations on the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
May Allah accept your fasting and your acts of worship.
Here at SoQ, last night we had our final Iftār Program of the holy month of Ramadān. This year, we had 7 programs in English during this holy month of Ramadān. In addition, we arranged an Al-Quds Day Rally (from SoQ center to the Main Rally) and a lock-in (for SoQ volunteer families only).
Thank you to all of you who participated in these programs on regular basis. We know that it is not easy to get up closer to the Iftār time and go participate in a program. May Allah accept your and your family's attendance and support.
We would like to thank our Qurān reciters for each program. Our brothers from Nigeria proudly took the lead in making arrangements for the Qurān reciters for each program. May Allah bless you all and accept your beautiful and powerful recitations. Thank you to our youths for reciting for us the Daily Ramadān Duā in Arabic, Farsi, English, and Urdu. Thank you to our young brother and sisters for writing and reciting the poetry for Imam Hasan ibne Ali (A), Amīrul Mominīn Imam Ali (A), and Al-Quds Day - all in English. Thank you and Jazāk-Allah to the brothers who arranged for and recited Noha/Matam. May Allah accept the efforts of our emcee who made sure that each program runs smoothly and that you get those important inserts and announcements throughout. We thank our media team which records, edits, and uploads these programs on www.studentsofqom.org. We thank our kids in Salāt team who made all the on-time arrangements.
We would like to thank all of the esteemed scholars who graciously accepted our invitation to come and speak to the community of believers. The insightful speeches provided us all with an opportunity to contemplate, introspect, reflect, and feel compelled to act and make revolutionary ammends in our thoughts and habits. The speeches were not only academic, intellectual, and spiritual in nature but they also highlighted the socio-political dimension of Islam and shed light on the plight of the Muslim Ummah. Once again, may Allah bless our guest speakers for this year, Insha-Allah.
We would like to thank our food team for ensuring that the Iftār and the dinner are fresh, warm, and ready to be served right after the Salāt. May Allah truly bless you and reward you for serving the guests of Allah.
We would like to request you all to pray for the tireless efforts of SoQ volunteer families and individuals. We wouldn't have been able to host you all if it were not for our dedicated volunteers. These volunteers did their best to serve the guests of Allah in every possible way. Let's pray for their continued Tawfeeq and that Allah accept their tireless efforts for the cause. Please forgive our shortcomings and deficiences, insha-Allah. We tried to make the best arrangements we could.
Last but not the least, we would like to sincerely thank all our donors and sponsors who donated for the arrangements of these programs - Iftār, dinner, juice, fruits, tea, coffee, sweets, etc. May Allah accept your contribution in HIS way.

Salamun Alaykum,
This Thursday at SoQ, in addition to our regular weekly program, some of our students of Qom from Philippines will be delivering a 15-min in-person presentation in English where they elaborate on what they call to be the “Fiercest Battle” of the Americans against the Muslims of Mindanao. Dating back to May 1902, this Moro-American war is remembered by the locals as "Padang Karbala". Why is it named after Karbala?
Tausug and the Maranao are two of the strongest tribes of Moro who spearheaded the struggle for self-determination against the foreign invaders and those locals who left their original religion and converted to Christianity.
Please join us for this Thursday’s ‘Family Night Program’ starting at 8 PM to find out more about our Muslim brothers and sisters living in Philippines.
