Knowing humans reflected in Al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya; session 26 July 7, 2024 Master Shuja‘i Greed of true believers for understanding the religion Imam Sadiq (a) said, “Al-Mu’minu lahu quwattun fi dinin...wa hirthun fi fiqhin.” A true believer is powerful in his religion. One who is powerful in religion always possesses three human features: compassionateness, mercifulness, and happiness and serenity. A true believer is not jealous, does not compete with anyone, is not malicious, is not sensitive and angry, and is not fragile. Power in religion means power in character. Fragility, consequently, decreases. “...wa hirthun fi fiqhin.” A true believer is greedy in learning his religion. He is greedy to understand his religion. Religion is a set of rules that takes one to the goal of his creation and takes him to the best ranks of heaven, or even higher. Some do not tend to study or hear these things. They do not use their time. For example, they have problems connecting with their spouses or children. Even when I give simple suggestions for disentangling their problems, like flashcards that can easily be studied or read in cars or anywhere else, they fail to do so. But they spend a lot of time on social media, gaining nothing valuable. Even this spending can be harmful for them. The expression, “I don’t have time”, is a big lie that we hear from everybody. That I do not have time to take care of my life, to fulfill my duties, to listen to audio files, or to read some pages shows that such a person is not greedy for his religion. However, these are good things to be greedy for and one should try to elevate himself by them. Thus, learning, especially learning about religion, is one of the good things to be greedy for. @INTshojaee
