Biography
Houshang H. Sohrab, a native of Tehran, Iran, joined the faculty during the summer of 1984. He took his B.S. & M.S. degrees at the University of Paris (France) and his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, all three degrees in Mathematics . His academic specialty was in Partial Differential Equations and Functional Analysis. He was a Research Assistant at the University of Bonn in West Germany (80-81) and an Instructor of Math at the University of Kansas in Lawrence (81-84) before joining the Mathematics Department at Towson.
At Towson Dr. Sohrab has taught a wide range of courses in Analysis, Algebra, Probability and Statistics. He has published several papers and has served on various departmental, college and university committees. Finally, he has coached several TU teams for the Virginia Tech and the Putnam Mathematics Contests.
