"Lend me your hand" was used by Chaucer and later writers in the sense, Extend me your hand, that I may clasp it as token of our agreement (or some such). He also used the phrase "Lend me your ears," meaning "Listen up, fellas." A much later citation in the Oxford English Dictionary, from John Florio's World of Words has "lend a hand" in the modern sense, that is, to temporarily assign that part of your body to someone else's use, that is, to help in whatever activity is going on.

This expression alludes to the dishonest practice of a merchant substituting a worthless cat for a valuable pig, which is discovered only when the buyer gets home and opens the bag. [Mid-1700s]
⠀
📌 Explanation
در قدیم وقتی مردم می رفتند که خوک بخرند، مغازه دار کلک می زد و گربه به جای خوک در کیسه قرار می داد. وقتی مردم می رفتند و کیسه را باز می کردند راز برملا می شد و می فهمیدند که حقیقت چیست.

“Hit the nail on the head” is a reference to carpentry and hitting the head of a nail squarely or “true.” A good carpenter can drive a nail with only two or three swings of the hammer, but his success depends on his accuracy. If he didn’t hit the nail squarely on the head every time, and instead hit it sideways, he would be inefficient and a much less successful carpenter. So, a carpenter’s ability to “hit the exact point” is similar to the idiom: To be exactly on point, and correct.

The expression “like pulling teeth” to describe a difficult task has been in use at least since the 1830s, and may be older. Before modern dentistry, pulling teeth in a literal sense was a long, painful process that involved perseverance and physical strength on the part of the tooth puller, as well as the patient.
