In 173 lunar Hijri calendar on this day, Seyyed Abdul-Azim al-Hasani, a prominent descendant of Prophet Mohammad (SAWA), was born in Medina. A pious scholar of repute, he was fifth in descent from the Prophet's elder grandson and 2nd Infallible Heir, Imam Hasan Mojtaba (AS). He was sent as a missionary to Iran to enlighten the people about the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt. Because of severe persecution of the Prophet's progeny by the tyrannical Abbasid caliph, Mutawakkel, he carried out his activities with precaution, spending the days in fasting and nights in worship. He passed away in 252 AH in Rayy, where his shrine, in what is now the southernmost suburb of the Iranian capital, Tehran, is the site of pilgrimage from all over the world.

Basij Week is also an important and memorable occasion. We commemorate many other weeks each year, but Basij Week has an exceptional feature because the Basij itself is exceptional and unique. I do not know of another group of people who utilize their best and most faithful members to defend their country and government with all their heart and soul, who do not shun any difficulties in the way of jihad and defense. At least, this is unprecedented in the contemporary world - the world of revolutions, transformations, and different systems of government. The Basij is particular to our Revolution. And it was our insightful Imam Khomeini (r.a.) who discovered this reality and put it into practice through divine inspiration and assistance. The enlightened hearts of our faithful people bestowed this blessing on the Revolution. That is what the Basij is

I want you to bring my martyrdom in the way of the victory of Islam and the health of Imam Khomeini. I want you to take care of him so well. It is a good opportunity to say some words to my literate brothers. Dear brothers, I would like to say that you have understood the path of Imam Khomeini so well and you have stepped in this path so well too; but I offer you that you should always stay like this and never to get haughty and you should not say that whatever you have belongs to yourself only. No, brothers, this thought is not true. Whatever you have is sourced from Islam and pure spirituality, there is no failure for you and it won’t exist for you in the future too. You should know that during history each time that the Iranian nation has been separated from the clerics or each time that the revolutionary people have put the clerics away, they got in the troubles designed for them by the Eastern and Western countries; therefore I ask you, my dear brothers, to think about this issue so deeply and you should continue the way that you have chosen now and God willing we will raise the flag of the Imam of the time soon. This flag will be raised all around the world…

Thou my mother ... do you remember that I would die for a declaration of Imam Khomeini? His words inspired Islam on our chests. If I martyred, asked Imam prays for me since GOD accepts me as a martyr. Tell the youth on my behalf that we all martyred in the path of Islam and you are responsible for their pure blood. You can not find the Islamic revolution anywhere. I wish All nations united to eliminate oppression.
My mother ... It takes many years to remove the Pahlavi thoughts through the people of our country. My dear father and mother, I love life but not enough to forget myself. I like to live like Imam Ali (AS) and Imam Hussain (AS) and martyred like them. Tomorrow we will fight against the Bathi forces ... please pray for all the Iranian warriors. If I am martyred please do not cry for me. live like Hazrat Zainab (SA). Islam is the religion of Jihad. We need faith, Issar, and resistance in this path. Thou my brothers and sisters forgive me ... and continue martyrs path in your life.
